Why should you launch your accounting firm website?
Many new firms start by relying on referrals, but without launching your accounting firm website, you risk losing potential clients who search for accountants online.
A well-structured website can:
- Help clients understand your services quickly
- Build trust by showcasing professionalism
- Make it easier for businesses to contact you
- Streamline pricing inquiries with online tools
This was exactly the challenge faced by 27m, a newly launched UK firm that provides accounting, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and HR services for owner-managed businesses. The founder wanted a website that clearly communicated his services, spoke directly to his ideal clients, and provided an easy way to explore pricing.
How I Helped 27m Launch Their Accounting Firm Website
When I started working with 27m, the goal was to create a website that not only looked professional but also helped potential clients immediately understand what the firm offers.
1. Identifying the Ideal Client
Before building the site, we brainstormed to define 27m’s target audience:
UK SME Owner-Managed Businesses
Annual turnover of £200,000 to £10,000,000
Not requiring audits
Defining the ideal client helped structure the content, ensuring the messaging spoke directly to the right businesses.

2. Structuring the Services Page
Many accountants struggle to present their services clearly. To avoid confusion, I:
Categorized services into clear sections (Bookkeeping, Accounting, Payroll, HR)
Used straightforward descriptions so visitors immediately understand what’s offered
Designed the page for easy navigation, so business owners could quickly find what they need

3. Displaying Pricing Transparently
Potential clients often leave a site if pricing isn’t clear. Instead of a static price list, we chose a custom-coded pricing calculator, allowing businesses to estimate costs based on their needs.
4. Branding & Visual Identity
To ensure the website aligned with 27m’s branding, I:
🎨 Used a color scheme based on 27m’s logo

📸 Selected stock photos that reflected the firm’s ideal clients (owner-managed SMEs)

When you launch your Accounting Firm Website: Security Matters Too
An accounting firm’s website isn’t just about looks—it must be secure. Since 27m’s site is built on WordPress, I took the following steps to protect it:
🔒 Limited login attempts to prevent hacking attempts
🛑 Hid the admin login URL to reduce vulnerability
💾 Set up regular backups so data is never lost
⚡ Enabled database and cache cleanups to keep the site running fast
Additionally, since 27m has a client portal, I ensured that if the main website was ever compromised, the client portal wouldn’t be affected. (🔗 Read my guide on how to secure your client portal for more details.)

Does Your Accounting Firm Need a Website?
If you’re still asking, do I need a website for my accounting firm?, the answer is yes—especially if you want to attract clients beyond referrals. A professional website builds trust, helps potential clients understand your services, and makes it easy for them to reach out.
